User Experience and Research
Overview
The User Experience and Research (UXR) guild is committed to designing intuitive and engaging user experiences across digital and immersive platforms. The guild specializes in user research, interface design, and interaction development, ensuring Next Lab’s projects are accessible, functional, and visually compelling. Leveraging tools like Figma, Unity UI, and Bezi, UXR guild members create seamless user experiences for XR applications and other digital platforms.
About the Guild
A core responsibility of the UXR guild is testing and refining the user experience of existing projects, including games, digital twins, and interactive applications. Through rigorous user testing, guild members evaluate interactions, identify pain points, and gather feedback for iterative improvements. The UXR guild work extends into quality assurance (QA), where members detect and document bugs, performance issues, and inconsistencies that could impact the overall experience. UXR guild members work with developers to refine UI elements, enhance accessibility, and optimize workflows to ensure every project meets high usability standards.
The guild cultivates problem-solving skills by tackling real-world design challenges and improving user experiences across various platforms. While in the guild, members develop expertise in identifying pain points through research, analyzing complex workflows, and coming up with intuitive solutions. A key focus is UI development within the Unity UI Toolkit, which equips members with the skills to design and implement interactive interfaces. Members also upskill in UI/UX principles by redesigning existing websites across different industries, improving both aesthetics and functionality. Through a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, the UXR guild explores best practices, shares knowledge with each other, and push the boundaries of immersive design.
