100Yr EdTech Summit 2025

100Yr EdTech Summit

In addition to serving on the design committee of the 100Yr EdTech Summit 2025, ASU Next Lab Co-founder and Director Dr. Bea Rodriguez-Fransen authored and collaborated with StoryCenter to produce the future scenario “Declaration Day: A ‘Major’ Reset.” Of the 33 future scenarios that were submitted to the summit this year, Rodriguez-Fransen’s was voted by the public as a top scenario (see video below). On March 20 and 21, 2025, she co-facilitated design sessions inspired by this scenario alongside University of San Antonio’s Vice Provost for Student Success, Dr. Tammy Wyatt. Together, they worked with professionals and students from various parts of the country to boldly imagine education, fifty years from now: what if, instead of declaring majors, students declare their grand challenges?

After a series of discussions on potential challenges and solutions to transform this vision into a reality by 2075, three calls to action emerged:

1) Starting today…Apply the design justice framework to co-create learning experiences and systems that reframe education as collective problem-solving.
2) Then…Co-create open-source skill stack portfolio, or partner with groups to pilot outcomes-based assessments.
3) Finally…Establish GC– Grand Challenge Global Collective.

Stay tuned for the forthcoming 2075 Guide publication, which will feature more details, scenarios and calls to action by this year’s summit participants.
